Celebrating 25 Years

The Diocese of Niagara has joyfully celebrated 25 years of history! On December 2nd at Christ's Church Cathedral the Anglican community - clergy and laity, gathered to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ordination of women!

The Cathedral was decorated with "elegant" balloons and the celebration occured in the "midst" of the community gathered. Archdeacon Marion Vincett presided and Canon Trudy Lebans proclaimed the homily. Bishop Spence offered words of welcome and congratulations while Bishop Bothwell (the original ordaining bishop) offered the prayers of intercession.

The liturgy was a true celebration of joy, acknowledging the pain that many women have endured during these early years in the history of the ordination of women.
