Retired HWDSB, Writer
St. Michael's Hamilton
A few years ago, Canon Lynda Kealey was looking for someone to send articles to the Niagara Anglican from St. Michael's. For some unexplained reason, I volunteered right away. I haven't looked back. I enjoy writing and reporting our events immensely.
St. Michael's is not the first church in Hamilton that I have attended. When I first came to Hamilton, my family was welcomed at St. Augustine of Canterbury. When the church closed in 2000 I decided to accompany many of St. Augustine's parishioners who chose St. Michael's for their new parish. (Even though I drive by three other Anglican churches on my way to church every Sunday)
Many of us quickly became involved in the new church. After sitting on Parish Council for a few years I was elected Deputy Peoples' Warden. This past year I became Peoples' Warden.
Just over a year ago I began our own monthly "Newspaper" – People, Parish, Events. Any event that I do not report in the Niagara Anglican is written up in our own paper. The newsletter was well received by the congregation and recently went from one page to three. (and just like the Niagara Anglican it, too, is read in Australia!)
Your donation will help us thrust the Niagara Anglican into the future - communicating the Gospel and the good news of our Anglican tradition to generations to come.
