Archdeacon, Assistant to the Primate of Canada
Ordained in the Diocese of Edmonton, and having served at Trinity College, in the Diocese of Toronto, and in the Primate's Office, Michael Thompson has been Rector of St. Jude's Church in Oakville since 2004. His 1994 Doctor of Ministry from University of Toronto/Trinity College focused on how ordained ministry can serve and foster the ministry of the baptized in daily life.
In 2000, he collaborated with Paul Maclean and the Anglican Book Centre to publish Seeking the Seekers. He contributes regularly to Ministry Matters, the ministry publication of General Synod, and teaches the first-year pastoral theology course at Trinity College.
Michael is married to Deborah Tregunno, with whom he shares the joy of three children, Maggie the dog, camping, paddling, buckets of tears and gales of laughter.
