The Niagara Anglican has a rich history of reporting the news and events and ideals of the Diocese of Niagara in Ontario Canada. Historical editors of this paper, notably Larry Perks have been consistent award winners and have carefully and successfully communicated the Anglican news to readers in all of our parishes.
Times have changed though. Over the past few years, the Niagara Anglican under the leadership of the Publisher’s Advisory Board and the editor have moved the paper away from trying to report news to a journal that reflects on the news and the contemporary issues that face the church. It simply isn’t possible to be a "newspaper" when we only publish once a month. Society and our church are moving far too fast for that!
We have a group of very dedicated writers who are people of faith, and who treat their work with this paper as a ministry. This ministry now not only reaches the 16,000 people who receive the paper in print, but it extends to the entire world through our web presence.
The newspaper portion of our site is a work in progress, but we think you’ll appreciate the work that has gone into it. We will continue to post historical articles and the same time all the new articles from our writers will appear as they post them. Our environmental sensitivity tells us that printing a newspaper is not going to be an viable alternative into the future. In addition postage costs are becoming prohibitive. The paper will continue for the foreseeable future, but we need to find better ways in upcoming years.
Enjoy this part of our website and enjoy the careful thoughts of our writers. Through your reading and your comments we shall all grow together in our mission as vital Church in the 21st Century.
