Blessing of Same Sex Unions This section of our website is intended to present a balanced view of the debate on the blessing of same sex unions. The articles to the right have been gathered over the past number of months for your information.
On
June 15th, 2002, the Diocese of New Since then, Bishop Ingham has issued and approved a Rite for the Blessing of Same Sex Unions. The Supreme Court of Ontario ruled in favour of registering Same Sex Unions which has sparked the Federal Government to amend the marraige act to include Same Sex Unions. There are varying opinions within the Anglican Communion on this issue. Other Christian demonations are divided in their views. The articles (although not complete) do try to present a balanced perspective. Bishop Spence is committed to deeply searching for the call of the Spirit in this issue. We must continue to pray asking for the wisdom to discern what is right and just. Above all we pray that the spirit of charity and love prevails in all that we discuss with regard to the blessing of same sex unions.
