Friday November 9th Hamilton

The second session of the 127th Synod of the Diocese of Niagara officially opened with the Eucharistic Service, held at Christ's Church Cathedral this evening, Friday, November 9, 2001. Bishop Ralph Spence delivered his Charge to the Synod. For a full text of the Charge please see the column to your right.

The opening formalities of the Synod included reports from the Credentials Committee, the Agenda and Resolutions Committee. Notices of Motions to come before the Synod, including Notices of Canonical Changes were presented at this time. The Synod elected representatives to the Trinity College Corporation and approved the Minutes of the first session of Synod, held on May 12, 2001 at the Hamilton Convention Centre.

The Bishop announced his appointments to the Diocesan Court and introduced newly licensed people who are attending Niagara's diocesan Synod for the first time.
