News Release: St. Peter's, Hamilton

It is with regret that we inform you that St. Peter's Church, Hamilton voted on Sunday to align themselves with the Southern Cone and the Network in Canada. The Rev Sandy Copeland has relinquished her license and has resigned as rector of the parish.

 As of Tuesday October 7th Synod Council has approved a motion appointing the Ven. Rick Jones as the diocesan administrator of St. Peter's. The diocese will be moving forward to secure the same agreement that exists between the other breakaway parishes and the diocese. That is shared use of the facilities and mutually convenient worship times.

The diocese is also aware that there are many members of St. Peter's who did not attend the vote and do not agree with the direction of this parish. The diocese will be working to continue offering pastoral care and worship for the remaining members of this historic Anglican community.
